Artist. Yogi. Writer. Creative Guide.
About Chrissy
I was born in Seoul, Korea, and adopted along with my twin sister. We grew up in Sydney, Australia.
My creative path has taken many forms—from studying Fine Arts, majoring in sculpture to launching footwear brands and later returning to my passion: making art with my hands.
I’ve lived and worked around the world—Sydney, Bali, Brighton, Vancouver, Austin, and Los Angeles—each experience shaping the artist and person I am.
Today, I live and work on Gadigal Land (Sydney, Australia) where I am an artist, yoga teacher, writer, and mother.
Art, Ritual, and Storytelling
My work is deeply influenced by my connection to Korean folk traditions— Minhwa, is a form of symbolic, mystical folk art once practiced by everyday people, often anonymously. Through this work, I explore themes of healing, intuition, identity, protection, and abundance, blending traditional symbols with my own intuiative work.
My creative process is meditative and ritualistic. I work with watercolor, embroidery, and vintage fabrics. Each piece a connecting with life force, offering healing, intention and inviting the viewer to reflect more deeply.
The Way of the Creative
My personal journey through art, yoga, motherhood, and navigating fast-paced city life led me to The Way of the Creative—Living a creative more intentional, and inspired life.
The Way of the Creative is both a blog and a book (currently underway). In my blog I share and explore, creativity, yoga, buddhism, ayurveda, and the science and neuroscience of how to find more calm and creativity.
The book “The Way of the Creative” is semi autobiographical, magical realism. To find out about the book click here
The Way of The Creative blog and book offer a path to cultivate your creativity, to find flow, and reconnect with your purpose—whether as an artist, a seeker, or someone simply curious about living more consciously.
Sharing My work on Socials I embody Ran the main character of “The Way of The Creative” novel. A Korean Adoptee living in Australia. A descendent of a Mudang (Korean Shaman) who makes Minhwa, fire bends, grows medicinal plants and performs rituals.
Yoga as a Way of Life
Yoga has been a constant in my life for over 25 years. It began as a physical practice but gradually deepened into something more—a philosophy, a lifestyle, a grounding force.
My teaching blend’s traditional yogic philosophy with modern mindfulness and an understanding of how creativity and nervous system regulation are deeply connected. Yoga is not just physical movement—it’s an ancient system of living and connecting with the universal creative force. Through yoga you can cultivate presence, and learn how to live with clarity and intention. It’s a daily practice of remembering: to slow down, to breathe, and to stay connected—to myself, to others. To make space for what matters and to do something greater.
A Life Rooted in Creativity & Ritual
My work—whether it’s teaching, art-making, or writing—is an extension of how I choose to live: slowly, intentionally, and creatively. I believe that when we create space in our lives—through ritual, movement, nature, or art—we open the door to inspiration, healing, and transformation.
Today, I divide my time between creating art, running The Way of the Creative—both as a blog and forthcoming book—teaching yoga, and spending time my family and friends. I volunteer as a Scout leader, tend to my healing garden, work with art materials and vintage textiles, and continue to explore my spirituality, and the science of wellbeing.
Thank you for being here and for being part of this journey.
With love,
Chrissy
